Standard Hotel vs. Timeshare Resort
Crowding a family of four into a hotel room or arranging for adjoining rooms when traveling is tricky and arrangements for larger groups are more complicated. Timeshare units offer more than hotel rooms. They offer the convenience of an apartment and more.
A single room with two beds and a bathroom. The entire family shares one room. This is a challenging arrangement for families with small kids. Parents are left with few options.
In a timeshare unit, guests usually get a full condominium. Standard timeshare units include:
One, two, or three bedrooms
A living room (usually with a sleeper sofa)
A full kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, and dishwasher, as well as cookware and dishes. Some units have a washer and dryer
A dining area
One, two, and sometimes three full bathrooms
The kids can be put to bed in one bedroom giving the parents the opportunity to enjoy themselves in the additional living area
Most timeshare resorts have activities for the whole family such as swimming pools, miniature golf, bowling, game and movie nights, and many more. Children's activities and programs are offered by many resorts, typical activities include arts and crafts, pool games, t-shirt making, karaoke, and more. Parents can have some down time.
Not only do you get more room and available activities but there are many options just not available when staying in a hotel.
The full kitchen saves time and money allowing families to fix meals in their condo instead of going to a restaurant for every meal. Most resorts have DVD and VCRs in the rooms and movie rental on site.
When traveling with groups, timeshares are an excellent choice for enjoying time together while still giving everyone some privacy.
